Moncton Headstart Launches School Supplies Drive

The annual school supplies drive is getting underway at Moncton Headstart.

The program exists to help families who may not be able to purchase all of the necessary school supplies on their own.

Moncton Headstart executive director Mary O’Donnell says the demand continues to grow.

“We have seen significant growth in the last couple of years. In 2014, we had served 550 children. Last year in 2015, it grew to 700 children,” she notes.

With many new immigrant families recently moving into the region, O’Donnell says she expects higher numbers this year.
