The City of Moncton wishes to advise the motoring public of delays or detours in the following areas to accommodate the Atlanticade Motorcycle Festival and the Rotary RibFest happening from Thursday, June 23 to Sunday, June 26, in downtown Moncton.
City Hall Event: Thursday, June 23
Part 1: From 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. for stage delivery and installation
• Closure of Main Street, from Downing Street to Mechanic Street; leaving intersections of Main/Downing and Main/Mechanic open
Part 2: From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. for Event Set-up and Execution
• Closure of Main Street, from Sommet Lane to Mechanic Street, leaving intersections of Main/Alma and Main/Mechanic to remain open
• Closure of Botsford Street, from Main Street to Queen Street, leaving the Botsford/Queen intersection open
Riverfront Event: From 6 a.m. Friday June 24 – 6 p.m. Sunday June 26
Part 1: Full Closure of Assomption Boulevard from Lutz to Mechanic
• Intersections of Assomption/Mechanic and Assomption/Lutz will remain open
• Intersection of Assomption/Westmorland will be controlled access only as Assomption between Lutz and Westmorland will be closed
• West-bound lane of Assomption Boulevard between Mechanic and Westmorland will remain open to local traffic with controlled access to McCor and Moncton Provincial Law Courts parking lots
Part 2: Closure of west-bound lane of Assomption Boulevard from Main to Mechanic to detour traffic.
• Access to McCor parking, Provincial courthouse, condos and RCMP station via Mechanic St.
• This is to ensure better flow of traffic around the street closure area
Part 3: Closure of Westmorland Street to thru traffic from Main St to Assomption Boulevard
• Controlled access required as there will be no exit from Westmorland to Assomption
