Residents Examine Plans For Old Moncton High School

Residents are getting a chance to see plans to restore the old Moncton High School today.

Dennis Cochrane, president of the restoration group MH Renaissance, says the provincial government has already agreed to provide an anchor tenant.

“When they (the province) put the second call out for proposals a few months ago, they would include 1700 square feet of school board office space. We told the province that we still that as an anchor tenant, probably on the second floor,” says Cochrane.

The Moncton Public Library has also been proposed as a major tenant but so far no agreement has been reached.

Cochrane says his group asked the architects to prepare new plans which would better accommodate the library.

Public information sessions outlining the project are being held hourly until 8-pm this evening at the Crossman Centre-Kay Arena.
