Opposition Leader Unimpressed With Cabinet Shuffle

As you might expect, interim Provincial Conservative leader Bruce Fitch isn’t impressed by the Premier’s cabinet shuffle.

He equates it to rotating four flat tires on a car but not doing anything to fix the blown engine. He charges there is a crisis of leadership which shuffling the cabinet will do nothing to fix.

Fitch tells us Cathy Rogers who’s now Finance Minister once said raising the HST, which will happen next month, was the lazy way out. He finds it surprising she was named Finance Minister in light of the trouble she got into with seniors over what he calls the asset grab.

As for naming a woman as New Brunswick’s first ever Finance Minister, Fitch claims there’s less to that than meets the eye because much of what was in Finance is now in the Treasury Board.

He calls the shuffle an attempt to win votes in the southern part of the province.
