Moncton Centre MLA Urges Community Use Of Old MHS

The Moncton Centre MLA believes time is running out to transform the old Moncton High School into a multi-functional community building.

Chris Collins wants to see the public library rent the main floor while other community organizations could rent other space.

Currently, Collins says U-Haul has the only official offer on the table to turn the old school into a warehouse and storage facility.

“We certainly support U-Haul coming to Moncton in a substantive way. But this incredible, beautiful building is not the way to do that,” he notes.

Collins wants City Council to bring forth a motion to support the multi-functional community building proposal.

He hopes they act before the current council is dissolved in May for the municipal election.
