New Brunswick RCMP have confirmed that escaped inmate 29-year old Jeffrey MacLean has been recaptured.
He was located and arrested after a police chase in Fredericton at around 7:40pm tonight.
Corrections Services Canada says MacLean is currently serving a sentence of nine years, four months and 21 days for armed robbery, robbery with violence and disguise with intent. He escaped from Dorcester Penitentiary earlier today.
After his escape, RCMP say a vehicle was stolen, and roadblocks were set up in Moncton as officers continued their search.
MacLean is expected to appear in court at a later date in connection with this incident.
