Two Nova Scotians Under Facing Charges After Drugs Seized In Traffic Stop

Two Nova Scotians are under arrest and facing charges following a traffic stop on the Trans Canada Highway in Moncton.

Last night, Codiac RCMP officers stopped a vehicle just east of the exit for Highway 15 thanks to a tip from the Provincial RCMP’s Federal Operations in Moncton.

They found approximately 100 pounds of marijuana and almost 18 pounds of cannabis resin in the vehicle.

51-year old Dale Fetinko and 49-year old Stephanie Fetinko both from Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, appeared in court today facing charges of drug trafficking and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Andre Potvin says this is an example of how the RCMP’s presence on our highways can help identify and disrupt the transportation of illegal drugs through our province.

The two Nova Scotians return to court February 15th.
