Sentencing For Matthew Tucker To Be Held Monday

On Monday, February 15th, we will find out the fate of St. Stephen’s most notorious murderer.

“Finding the body of Miss Dorothy Tucker was not the outcome that we wanted… we wanted to find Her.”

Those heartbreaking words from Cpl. Chantal Farrah, Media Relations Officer with the New Brunswick RCMP, on the day Matthew Tucker was arrested, and charged with second degree murder for the death of his mother, Dorothy.

The 53 year old Oak Haven woman went missing in November of 2014, followed by a massive search outside St. Stephen that included RCMP divers, helicopters, and the K9 unit.

Her body was found unrecognizable, 10 days later, by two hunters in a wooded area of St. David Ridge.

One chilling fact in the case, Dorothy was reported missing on her son, Matthew’s 34th birthday.

Matthew Tucker only changed his plea to guilty within the last few months.

He goes before a judge for sentencing at the Saint John Law Courts Monday.
