Thousands of young people across the country will become eligible to vote for the first time on October 19th.
But as a new voter, your name will likely not be on the voters list.
Elections Canada spokesperson Diane Benson says new voters such as college or university students should familiarize themselves with the process.
She says you must be 18 years old to vote and must live in your respective riding on voting day.
Benson says it’s possible to register on the Elections Canada website or you can drop by your local returning office.
She adds it’s important to have a government-issued I.D. card and two other pieces of identification with your name and current address.
