There was a decrease in gas prices overnight, but many gas stations are NOT reflecting that this morning.
Prices dipped 1.0 cent a litre with the weekly price setting, but several stations in Moncton are selling for around 104.1.
The maximum price for regular gas has been set at 106.1, but stations often sell for a couple cents less.
Senior petroleum analyst Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says after this week’s gas shortage in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. He hopes the governments will now take a serious look at gas regulation.
He says, “I don’t think the very people for whom the regulation was designed to help, is helping them. More importantly , it is having a damaging effect as a whole.”
Diesel and furnace oil prices spiked this morning, up over 4.0 cents a litre.
Propane is also up 0.7 cents.
