A man wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant stemming from an assault on a woman in Ontario being arrested in Saint John.
32-year-old Michael Condren is being held for a six day period to allow the Halton Regional Police to arrive and bring him back to Ontario.
There was an approximately five hour standoff with police on Sunday after officers found out that Condren was in a home on the Westmorland Road however he refused to leave the home. Police had to apply for an entry warrant and get authorization to get inside the building and then arrested Condren. No weapons were involved.
Condren made an appearance in court on Monday.
