An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire which destroyed three barns on Scotch Settlement Road, north of Moncton.
The barns were fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene shortly before 11 p.m. last night.
Platoon Chief Rob Brine says no one was hurt and no animals were inside the barns at the time of the fire.
“The large barn was not being used at the time. The other two buildings were used as storage,” he says.
Brine says water tankers had to be brought in from Moncton and Dieppe.
Firefighters spent more than five hours dousing the flames.
