RCMP say a car was stolen in Aulac early this morning after the owner left the vehicle running and unattended outside a restaurant.
Officers tracked down the car near Port Elgin but the suspect fled into the woods.
A police dog was brought in and the suspect was arrested a short time later.
Police say 19-year-old Kyle Ruddick, of no fixed address, has been charged with obstruction and theft of a vehicle.
He made his first court appearance in Moncton today.
