Moncton Man Faces Child Porn Charges

It started with a tip from police in Ontario – and ended with a man in Moncton court today facing five charges relating to child pornography.

A 24-year-old Moncton man faces charges of making and possessing child pornography and making child pornography available, as well as sexual assault and touching a person under the age of 14 for sexual purposes.

The investigation began last fall after police in Ontario passed information to the New Brunswick RCMP’s Child Exploitation Unit.

The offences are alleged to have happened between January 2010 and December 2014 in Moncton and Saint Leonard.

The man, whose name cannot be released under a publication ban, will be back in court on February 27th for a bail hearing.
