There’s a provincial connection to the officer who was shot in Alberta over the weekend.
Constable David Matthew Wynn is formerly from Miramichi.
He was critically injured when he was shot in the head Edmonton outside of a casino. He is not expected to recover.
Shawn Maxwell Rehn, who has been identified as the suspect, was found dead in his home on Saturday.
