A Kent County man has changed his plea to guilty in a case involving assault and confinement.
Forty-year-old David Beaulieu of Saint-Paul pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman last August and allegedly confined the woman in is van before being arrested in Dieppe.
A deal was reached between the Crown and the defence yesterday in Moncton court which means the case won’t go to trial.
The Crown agreed to withdraw a charge of unlawful confinement given Beaulieu’s guilty plea for assault.
The case returns to court February 17 in which a pre-sentence report and victim impact statements will be heard.
