Canada’s Governor General says 2014 was a year of great celebration and commemoration.
In his New Years message, David Johnston says Canadians marked a number of significant anniversaries and would like 2015 to be one where Canadians become more active.
He says, “It doesn’t matter how you get involved, just do it. By helping our fellow Canadians, by participating in our civic life, by working to build prosperity in our communities, this is how we build a smarter more caring and more resilient society.”
Johnston also notes that 2015 will be the Year of Sport in Canada as it hosts a number of international events.
