Employers And Employees Differ Somewhat On Christmas Bonuses

Receiving a Christmas bonus is not necessarily a given even though it’s considered good for business.

More than 20 per cent of businesses will not be giving a Christmas bonus of any kind even though some employees say a simple thank you would be sufficient recognition for them.

27 per cent of employees and job seekers say they would like a cash bonus with 13 per cent desiring an actual increase in pay.

Most employers, 34 per cent, plan to give cash. 12 per cent will be handing out gift cards but they are only favoured by 5 per cent of workers.

The Christmas party is way down the list, supported by just 1 per cent of respondents.
