Monctonians Are Giving Generously Again This Year!

The wallets and cupboards of Monctonians are slowly but surely being put towards the variety of events happening under the auspices of the “30 Days of Community Caring Campaign.

Dale Hicks, president of Food Depot Alimentaire and Coordinator for the Campaign says at the halfway point they are moving well towards their targets which include 15 percent of their goal of 1750 Food Boxes have been filled; two thirds of the 1750 Metrotones Concert tickets have been sold; The Turkey Drive kicked off this past Wednesday and is already at 267 Turkeys – their final goal is 3865 Turkeys total.

Two activities are already completed, including a little over 5-thousand pounds of food collected at the Tim Horton Food Drive at the Santa Claus parade – and David Myles’ “Singing for Supper” event yesterday at Champlain Place raised a staggering 585 pounds of food, and almost 38-hundred dollars.
