It may surprise you to know that the 11 YMCA’s throughout Atlantic Canada are partners with the Y in Honduras.
Trina Clarke of the Y of Cumberland in Amherst Nova Scotia recently visited Honduras to renew their 5 year agreement.
She tells us they provide training programs along with leadership and skills development.
She says they also advocate to the Honduran government on matters like social justice and youth safety because crime against youth is very high.
Clarke says the programming offered at the Honduras Y runs from kindergarten to the age of 30.
