Widow of RCMP Officer Expresses Thanks For Community Support

A new painting will soon be hanging in Moncton’s City Hall after it was donated at City Council last night.

The painting, by New Brunswick artist Norman Jackson, is a commemoration of the three RCMP officers who lost their lives earlier this year.

The painting is called “Heroes in Our Hearts” and prints or calendar versions of it are available at the Kent stores, and all profits from the sale will be divided equally between the three families.

Jackson will be at the Trinity Kent location between 10 and 1 today to sign prints of his painting.

Angela Gevaudan is a widow of one of the fallen officers, and she says support from the city has made this time easier for her and her husband’s family.

She told Council members last night, “I’m very grateful for the people who have and continue to take the time to think of us, and was recently able to share some of the beautiful gifts made for our family.”
