Children In New Brunswick Need Better Protections

There are some disturbing findings in the 7th annual State of the Child Report which has been released by the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate and the New Brunswick Health Council, calling for better protections when it comes to child rights.

The report reveals two of every three girls in the province say they have been bullied.

The rate of young people, who are victims of family violence in New Brunswick, is much higher than the national average.

The rate of people in the province charged with sexual offences involving children is much higher than the national average.

More than 5 per cent of young people in the province admit to taking methamphetamines.
