Members Of Muslim Group Take Time To Honour Veterans

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will pause across Canada today to reflect on the sacrifices of our soldiers and for those who have given their lives for Canada.

Abdul Kareshi is the President for the Ahmadiyya Community in Halifax. He says with the recent attacks on our soldiers on Canadian soil, this year’s Remembrance Day takes on even deeper meaning.

“We feel it is our duty to support our fallen soldiers to remember their sacrifices for our freedom that we appreciate and love so much and cherish. It is important as a Muslim to obey the laws of the land and support the loyalty of ones country of residence, is integral part of Islam.”

Donations will be collected and Poppies will be handed out at all Ahmadiyya Muslim Mosques and Prayer Centres after the Islamic Friday Prayer today. All collections will be donated to The Royal Canadian Legion.
