Remembrance Day may have a different look in 2015.
It’s close to being a national holiday as MP’s in the House of Commons have unanimously approved Bill C-597 in second reading.
The final step is approval from the heritage committee.
Remembrance Day is a provincial holiday in New Brunswick, but it is not in other provinces. In Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Manitoba, some may have the day off school and work, but it is not considered statutory.
Federal employees throughout the country receive the day off with pay because Ottawa considers it a national holiday.
