Monctonian AAA Challenge Expected To Be The Biggest Ever

Hockey players from right across the country will converge on the Hub City next week, for what is being labelled the largest ever Monctonian AAA challenge.

This event draws in over 3000 visitors from November 13 to 16th.

Tournament Chairman Blair Brooks says for the first time ever they’ve extended invites to teams nationally, “This year is the first year we’ve brought teams in from right across the country. We’re got teams from British Columbia right through to the eastern tip of Newfoundland.”

Brooks says this is an important tournament for the players as well, because there will be roughly 150 hockey scouts on hand.

He says this tournament also means good things for the City of Moncton, “The fact that we have 52 teams here, who bring parents, coaches, officials and other supporters with them, that will mean using around 1500 hotel rooms. They’ll also be eating at restaurants and do some shopping in Moncton as well.”

The puck drops at 8:30am November 13th at the Red Ball Internet Centre, and there will be a total of 100 games played over the four days..
