Problem Over Food Labelling In Province Resolved

The Retail Council and province have worked out a dispute that arose over food labelling.

A little noticed regulation was brought in by the provincial government that disallowed using best before labelling on perishable foods prepared in stores.

The Retail Council’s Jim Cormier points out consumers are used to best before labelling to give them a good idea when not to eat something and removing that could cause them to get sick.

It took 18 months but Cormier gives credit to provincial Health Minister Ted Flemming for finally getting the matter resolved.
