MONCTON, N.B. – Correctional officers in New Brunswick have been going from city to city raising awareness of their lack of a contract with the government.
Today a small group held an information picket in front of the Moncton courthouse.
Union spokesperson Everett Godfrey says they’ve been trying to reach a deal for the past four years but have been unsuccessful.
Some of the main outstanding issues are how the correctional officers are treated and pensions.
Godfrey also says it has also been about four years since they’ve seen a pay increase.
