1937 – 2026

Elizabeth Jane Gothreau, of Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday, October 2, 2026 with her family by her side.

Born in Mayfield, Prince Edward Island, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Cole.

In her work life, she was a banker and in her retirement she was an active volunteer with the Red Cross and a member of Tidal Church.

She will be missed and remembered by her daughter Gwen (Rodney) White, son James Dawson, step-children Wayne (Patricia) Gothreau, Marlene Deveau, Gloria Gothreau, sister Carol Cole, grandchildren: Rodney Jr., Sarah, Rachel, Tony, Brandon, great-grandchildren: Tradon, Mason, Dawson, Rowan, Nolan, Anabel and her many nieces and nephews.

Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband of Moncton New Brunswick John Edward Dawson, and second husband Donald Joseph Gothreau, son David and several brothers and sisters.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date in Ontario. Arrangements are entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (506-869-2007). In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
