Lawrence “Larry” Caissie

January 6, 1956  –  September 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Caissie, 70, of Moncton, at his home on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, after a valiant fight with ALS. He never gave up; he was a fighter. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Doiron) Caissie.

Even as ALS gradually took away his physical abilities, it never took away his determination, humour, pride, or love for life. His spirit remained strong to the very end.

Larry retired as a Retail Operations District Manager with Ultramar. During his career, he was a respected and well-liked colleague who developed many lasting friendships with his peers. His ability to negotiate and close a deal was something he was passionate about, and proud of. He worked closely with the clients he signed and developed wonderful relationships with them.

Larry was a social butterfly who thrived in the company of others. He loved people, good conversation, laughter and bringing people together. He was a gracious and generous host who was always ready to throw a party or two and his home was a place where everyone felt welcome.

He was an avid lover of music and movies. He loved sharing the experience of music and film through another passion of his: electronics. He enjoyed having the latest and greatest in home entertainment technology to enhance the experience of watching a great film or listening to music.

His greatest joy and love in life, however, was his family. He was always excited to share and discuss the latest milestone or achievement of his children and, later, his grandchildren with friends and family. He was a proud father and grandfather who took great joy in watching his family grow.

Larry will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife, Julie Savoie; his children, Chris (Holly), Justin (Tania), Stephanie, and Nylah; his grandchildren, Trey, Emmett, Lincoln, and Libby; his sister, Norma O’Keefe (Michael); his sister, Maureen Sutton; and his brother, Ronnie Caissie (Karen).

Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Doreen, and brother, Robert.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. C. Ambree, Dre C Savoy, and the staff of Extra-Mural Nursing, who worked tirelessly to help Larry navigate and manage the devastating disease that ultimately took him from us. Their care and compassion will always be remembered and appreciated.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 at Fergusons Funeral Home & Fergusons Crematorium, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton, NB, (506-858-1995). A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends.

Memorial donations may be made to ALS Canada. Online condolences may be shared at:
