Emery Saulnier

1930 ~ 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Emery Saulnier of Dieppe, formerly of Notre-Dame, on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the age of 95, at the Albert House Hospice in Moncton.

Born in Moncton, NB, on November 5th, 1930, Emery lived a life defined by resilience, dedication, and deep love for his family. He was the beloved husband of Mable Saulnier (née Léger), with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. He was the son of the late Maximilien and Delina (née Vautour) Saulnier.

Emery was a man who navigated a tough but beautiful life with strength and grace. A respected contractor, he was known for his tireless work ethic and the warmth he extended to everyone he encountered. A man of deep faith, he was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and, in his prime, an accomplished hockey player and boxer—a passion that remained with him throughout his life, as he served on the boxing commission well into his 80s.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mable; his children, Jerry (Marielle), Paul (Donna), and Normand (Elaine), all of Notre-Dame-de-Kent; and his daughters, Norma (Chris) Bulmer of Indian Mountain and Debbie (Sylvain) Cyr of Dieppe. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren (Lynn, Steven, Megan, Jena, Kristopher, Jessica, Lisa, Denis, Amanda, David, Samantha, Amy, Mattéo, Mikai, and Malek), 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with one more on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Irene Theriault (late Clarence) and Jeannine Cormier Green (late Louie); his brothers, Alcide (late Barbara) and Alfred (Bertine) of Ontario, and Donald (Jeannine) of Dieppe; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Amanda (Léger) Saulnier; his daughter, Linda; his brothers, Roger, Frank, and Jean-Paul; and his sisters, Corinne, Dorice, and Dorene.

In accordance with Emery’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Notre-Dame du Sacré Coeur Parish Cemetery in Notre-Dame-de-Kent.
