1961 – 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Eleanor (Ellie) Ruth Jost, with her wife by her side, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Moncton Albert House Hospice.

Born in Montreal, QC, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Roland Jost and the late Joyce (Cuff) Jost.

Eleanor is survived by her wife of 14 years: Darcy Bonin of Dieppe; her brother: James Jost of Moncton; her sister: Mary Jost of Montreal; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Ellie is also survived by her birth mom: Betty Wright and brothers: Dan and Sonny Brisson.

Besides her parents, Ellie was predeceased by her brother: Chris Jost in 2013.

Ellie loved the outdoors. Gardening, hiking and especially camping were just a few of her many interests. Ellie was an avid woodworker. She enjoyed going to the movies and sharing a good meal with her wife, family and friends. Nothing made her happier than taking our little dog Daisy for a walk.

In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation in her memory to the Oncology Wing of the Moncton City Hospital.

Visitations will be held at Passage-Chartersville, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB E1A 1G1, on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 2pm to 2:50pm. A celebration of life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3pm with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating.
