1976 – 2026
Michael J. “Mickey” Gaudet of Moncton passed away at his residence on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the age of 49 years. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Margaret (Prince) and the late Maurice Gaudet.
Michael was known to everyone as Mickey. He had the biggest heart anyone could ever know.
Born with Williams syndrome and malnutrition, Michael was not expected to live past the age of five. But Mickey proved everyone wrong. His light was so strong, and his spirit carried him through nearly 50 remarkable years, touching the lives of everyone who knew him.
Mickey found joy in the things he loved most: watching horror movies, trains, cranes, and monsters. Those things brought him endless happiness and were such a big part of who he was.
More than anything, Mickey loved his family deeply, especially his mom. The love he gave was unconditional, genuine, and unforgettable.
Mickey will be remembered for his bright spirit, his strength, and the joy he brought into the world. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his family, friends, and everyone lucky enough to know him.
Michael loved all of the nurses and doctor from over the years that looked after him and made his stay a great experience.
Survived by his mother, Margaret Gaudet; one brother, Paul Gaudet; nieces, Autumn and Jade Leger; great nephew, Caleb Cormier and great niece, Lia Cormier all of Moncton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Riverview Funeral Centre & Fergusons Crematorium, 214 Pine Glen Rd., Riverview, NB, E1B 1V6, (506-857-9544) where a Celebration of Life will be held for Mickey on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
