It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janita Allain, 74, on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, at her home.
Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Hector and the late Stella Bastarache (Girouard).
Janita will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Leonard; her daughters: Marie-Mai Pedersen (Creig) of Shediac and Lise Allain of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent; her grandsons: Braiden and Dylan; as well as her brothers-in-law: Paul Allain (Rose-May) and Aldérice Allain (Dionne); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marie-Mai; as well as two sisters-in-law: Laurise Allain and Rita Duguay (late Didier).
Janita was known for her kind and generous heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She found joy in simple pleasures like smelt fishing and sewing, hobbies that reflected her patience and creativity. Janita was also an exceptional cook whose meals brought family and friends together, filling every gathering with warmth, love, and lasting memories.
Visitations will be held at Passage ~ Maillet (29 de l’Église Street, Bouctouche) on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm. A funeral service will take place at Saint-Jean-Baptiste RC Church (19 Irving Blvd, Bouctouche) at 4:30pm.
Donations in Janita’s memory can be made to Pépére Boîte à Lunch or to the Saint-Jean-Baptiste RC Parish.
