1943 ~ 2026

Grand-Barachois, NB – Ernest Gallant, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre in Moncton, on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026.

Born in Piusville, PEI, he was the son of the late Patrick and late Marie Gallant (Buate).

Ernie was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Régina; his brother, Edgar; his sister, Eunice; his brother in laws: Yvan, Roy, and Guy.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters: Ester (Joseph), Lorraine ( Emile), Stella (Lloyd) and Melita ; Regina’s siblings: Murielle (Donald), Maria, May (Gilbert), Rose and Raoul (Nicole); as well as by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ernie worked more than 30 years for Ford Motor company in Oakville, Ontario before retiring in New Brunswick. He loved reminiscing and sharing cherished memories of special times with his beloved wife Regina—whom he missed dearly—and with family and friends. He also found joy in sunny days spent driving his Mustang with the top down.

As per request, there will be no visitation. Private family interment will occur at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

A special thank you to Daniel and Julie for their unwavering support, kindness, and care over the years after the loss of his wife; your presence made a meaningful difference in his life.
