1940 – 2026

Arthur “Art” Brooks, of Riverview, passed away with his family by his side on Friday, May 1, 2026 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS, he was the son of the late Walter and Arminta Brooks.

Art began his working career in Moncton at Eaton’s Co. as an office manager but spent the majority of his career as an Insurance Salesman for London Life. In his retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, making his own wine and spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Art will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 66 years Carol (nee Matthews) Brooks, he will also be missed and remembered by his daughter Krista (Maurice) LeBlanc, son David (Dollie), sister Beatrice Porter, grandchildren: Mark, Alec, Katie and his several nieces and nephews.

Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Mabel Driega of Ottawa as well as several half brothers and sisters.

A special thanks to Dr. Jason Macdonald for the support and care given to Art.

There will be a celebration of life service for Art on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 6:00pm followed by a reception at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (506-869-2007). Interment will take place at a later date in the Springhill, Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Art’s memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
