Dora Despres

1934-2026

Cocagne, NB – It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Dora Despres, aged 92, on April 26 at Maison Albert in Moncton.

Born on April 16, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lionel LeBlanc and the late Joséphine (Robichaud) LeBlanc.

Mame was a devout believer with a heart of gold who gave everything to her children. She loved spending time with her family, taking bus trips with Paul-Émile, going on outings with her sisters, and walking.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Paul-Émile; her children: Jean-Charles (Gail) of Ancaster, ON, Murielle Francoeur (Jean-Marc) of Fredericton, Marcel of Pickering, ON, and André (Dorine) of Bouctouche; 8 grandchildren: Shawn Despres, Ryan Despres, Timmy Despres, Mathieu Despres, Chantal Francoeur, Sacha Francoeur, Rachel Thompson and Becky Goman; her 21 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Dorilla LeBlanc (Gérard) of Cocagne, Aline Cormier (George) of Bouctouche, Victorine Maillet of Bouctouche and Bernadette Caissie (Daniel) of Moncton; her brothers: Jean-Paul LeBlanc (Shirley) of Sussex and Omer LeBlanc of Saint-Antoine; her brothers-in-law: Yvon Despres (Jackie) of Cocagne, Roger Despres (Viola) of Cocagne and Arsène Despres (Lorraine) of Moncton; her sisters-in-law: Yvette Despres (Jean) of Cocagne, Louise Péronnet (Jean) of France and Effie Kilen of Calgary; as well as the family of her first husband Albéo, her brothers-in-law: Raoul Despres (Cécile) of Cocagne and Paul-Eugène Despres (Jeanne) of Shediac; her sister-in-law, Anne-Marie Maillet (Aldérice) of Mass, as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins ​​and other relatives.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Albéo Despres (1977); her daughter, Micheline at birth (1964); as well as her brothers: Alfred, Laurie, Noël, Albéo and Donald.

The family wishes to sincerely thank Dr. Hubert Dupuis, Dr. Thais Megid, and Dr. Linda LeBlanc, who provided our mother with the best possible care, as well as all the doctors and staff at Maison Albert who demonstrated great compassion and kindness towards our mother during her stay. We will be eternally grateful.

A private service will be held at the Passage-Maillet Funeral Cooperative in Bouctouche.
