Aldéric Richard

1933 – 2026

Shediac, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aldéric Richard, 92, of Maison Providence, Shediac, on Friday, March 20th, 2026.

Born in St-Norbert, NB, he was the son of the late Albert and the late Marie-Rose (Maillet) Richard.

Prior to his retirement, he was a jack of all trades, having worked as a carpenter and a bus driver for the city, for schools and for tourist. He was a life member of the Chevalier de Colomb de Grande-Digue, 3rd degree.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline (LeBlanc) Richard; by his daughters: Renée Matthew (Allen) of Cambridge, ON and Rosanne Hitchen (Dave) of Nanaimo, BC; by his son, Robert Richard (Donna) of Oromocto; by his grandchildren: Joel, Jocelyne, Jordan, Justin and Derek; by his great grandchildren: Alyssa and Logan, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters: Vienna, Yvonne, Aurelda, Lena, Lucie and Florine and by his brothers: Willie, Paul, Gilbert, Alphée, Antoine and Gérard.

Visitation will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Thursday, March 26th, 2026, from 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral mass will be held from La Visitation RC Church, Grande-Digue, on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at 11 am.

Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery in the spring of 2026.

In Aldéric’s memory, a donation can be made to the Chevalier de Colomb de Grande-Digue.
