At the Laval Hospital in Québec City, on March 12, 2026, Father Raoul LeBlanc passed away at the age of 81. A native of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Louis LeBlanc and the late Lydia Bastarache. He was residing in Beaupré, Quebec.
He leaves to mourn his sons Marco (Lotta) and Patrick (Karina Turbide), as well as their mother Colette Trudel; his granddaughters Andréanne and Anika (Alexandre Miville); and his great-grandson Mylan. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bertin (Anise), Bernard (Gisèle), Robert (Francine), Marcelle (Mik Kecman), and André (Jeannine); along with several nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his sister Stella Maris (Rodrigue Langis).
A kind-hearted and deeply generous man who was always available to others, Father Raoul touched the lives of many people. For many years, he devoted himself to the well-being of residents in nursing homes and seniors’ residences in the Québec City region, offering them support, comfort, and dignity.
At Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Hospital, he compassionately accompanied those who were living their final moments, leaving behind the memory of a presence that was both reassuring and deeply human. His passing leaves a lasting legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication to others.
Within the Diocese of Moncton, Father Raoul served in the communities of Saint-Timothée, Shemogue, Port Elgin, Melrose, Saint-Louis, Saint-Ignace, Pointe-Sapin, Baie-Sainte-Anne, Escuminac, Richibucto, Richibucto-Village, andSaint-Charles.
Family and friends will be received beginning at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 15, at Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel Church in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, NB.
Visitation hours: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
The funeral service will take place at 7:00 pm.
In memory of Father Raoul, donations may be made to Maison Nazareth or to the Vestiaire Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Bouctouche.
