Nina Geldart

1952 – 2026

We sadly announce the passing of Nina Geldart of Riverview, which occurred on March 9, 2026, at the Dumont Hospital. Born in Grand Falls, she was the daughter of the late L. Condé and Florine (née Babin) Voisine.

Mom loved walking the beaches of Cassie Cape, a place that felt like her second home after many years as a camper at the KOK Campground. She found great joy searching for seaglass along the shores of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, often with her seaglass sidekick by her side. The ocean — and the peace of having her feet in the sand — always held a special place in her heart.

For more than 30 years, Mom dedicated her life to teaching and shaping the lives of countless students, retiring in 2013 after a long and meaningful career.

In her earlier years, she was an avid softball player and later enjoyed many fun-filled mornings bowling with the ladies in the Wednesday league.

Above all, her grandchildren were the loves of her life and brought her endless pride and joy. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Nina will be dearly missed by her loving husband Douglas, daughter Laura Atkinson (Troy), son Charles Atkinson (Cathy), brother Jean Claude, grandchildren Emma & Evan, and her puppy Rachel. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Raymond.

The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd, Riverview, (506-869-2007) on Friday, March 13th from 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be held in her honour at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5 Fatima Dr, Riverview, on Saturday, March 14th at 11am followed by a reception at the funeral home. Donations made to Hospice, the Canadian Cancer Society, or an animal rescue of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
