1938 – 2026

Joan Blanchard of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Faubourg du Mascaret,Pavillon Landry, on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Born in Grande-Anse, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Laura (Henry) Blanchard. Joan enjoyed many years as a school teacher and later retired from the Federal Government, where she worked in the Social Security Department.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Touchie (Gregg) of Moncton; sister, Hazel Blanchard (Jacques DesJardins) of Bathurst; brothers, Edmund Blanchard of St-Isidore, NB, Desmond Blanchard of Bathurst, Basil Blanchard (Marielle Bourassa) of Montreal; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Camille Blanchard and her second husband, Duncan MacDonald, and her brother Edgar Blanchard.

In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
