Joseph “Joe” Breau

1950 – 2026
Charlottetown, PE – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph “Joe” Breau, 75, on Friday, February 13th, 2026, at Maison Albert Hospice, Moncton, NB.

Born in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Gérald and the late Albertine (LeBlanc) Breau.

Prior to his retirement, he worked for 42 years with Atlantic Roofers.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Despres; by his sons: Marc Breau (Nicole) of Newfoundland and Michel Breau (Martine) of Cocagne; by his step-son, Jocelyn Despres of Charlottetown, PE; by his grandchildren: Connor, Hunter, Maève and Maxandre; by the mother of his sons, Catherine Breau; by his sisters: Géraldine Allain (Léonard) of Dieppe and Juliana Caissie (Roméald) of Cocagne; by his brothers: Charles-Yvon Breau (Bernice) of Shediac and Léonard Breau (Murielle) of Cocagne; by his nieces and nephews: Ricky, Renée, Jeremy, Christian, Mario, Anise, Benoit, Sophie, Lise and Mathieu, as well as the extended Despres family.

He was predeceased by is grandson, Devon (2022) and by his sister-in-law, Patsy Breau.

Visitation will be held from Passage, 3754 Route 134, Shediac Bridge, NB, (506) 532-1050, on Friday, February 20th, 2026, from 9 am to 11:20 am, followed by the service in the chapel at 11:30 am.

A time to Celebrate Joe’s life will follow the funeral at Centre 50, 10 Villa Street, Cocagne, NB, on Friday, February 20th, 2026, from 1 pm to 4 pm.

In Joe’s memory, a donation can be made to the Maison Albert Hospice.
