Moncton, N.-B. – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gerard Richard, 97, of Manoir Notre-Dame, that occurred on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Rogersville, he was the son of the late Francois Richard and the late Julie Richard (Robichaud).
Gerard was a retired painter for A. N. Clark and Sons.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Elsie Richard (Baxter); his four children: Catherine (Ronald) Grenier of Sussex, Nancy L. (Daniel) Girvan of Moncton, Michael (Jocelyne) Richard of Dieppe, and David (Rosa) Murphy of Dieppe; his two grandchildren: Amanda (Andrew) Adam, and Jason Grenier; his daughter-in-law, Edna Murphy of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert Murphy; and by his two sisters: Phyllis (Maurice) Gautreau, and Rita (Gerry) Gould.
Visitation will be held at Passage-Chartersville Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 17th, from 1 to 3 pm only, followed by prayers and a reception.
