Moncton, NB – It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Richard, aged 82, of Dieppe, NB, on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Veterans Health Centre in Moncton.
Born in Saint-Louis-de-Kent, NB, on November 8, 1943, Donald was the son of the late José Richard and the late Marguerite Richard (née Arsenault).
Donald is survived by his common-law partner Diane Boucher. He will be deeply missed by his children, Francine Richard (Hervé Auclair) and Roger Richard (Liette Duguay), both of Dieppe. He also leaves behind his two granddaughters, Janelle Richard (Cédric Fortin) and Vanessa Savoie (Jay Rousselle), as well as his three great-grandchildren, Dilan, Daphné, and Izack.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his four sisters, Imelda Robichaud, Cécile Robichaud, Emma Daigle, and May Arsenault, and by his brother, Eddy Richard. Donald was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Donald was a veteran of the Canadian Army, where he served honorably for 17 years, and later worked in the construction industry, specializing in pool installation.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and all staff at the Veterans Health Centre for the excellent care and compassion shown to Donald during his stay.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. A celebration of Donald’s life will take place at a later date.
In Donald’s memory, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
