YMCA Newcomer Connections Looking For More Volunteers

YMCA Newcomer Connections are looking for more volunteers to help Syrian refugees settle into their new lives in Saint John.

270 Syrian refugees have arrived in the city so far with 500 expected but that number could go higher.

500 volunteers have stepped forward but the “Y” needs from 100 to 200 more according to President and CEO Shilo Boucher.

She says from her conversations, the Syrians like it in Saint John because they feel safe, are adapting well and would like to bring their family members over.
