Plea Made For Women To Step Forward

Hillary Clinton is attempting to break through the glass ceiling and become the Democratic Party’s nominee in this year’s U.S. Presidential election and now a plea is being made to persuade more women to run in this May’s municipal elections around the province.

Lisa Harris is the M-L-A for Miramichi Bay-Neguac but before that, she served as Deputy Mayor in Miramichi City.

Harris says in 2012, New Brunswick reached an historic level of women getting elected but more are needed because they bring new ideas to the table.

The May elections are not just for municipal councils around the province but also the District Eduction Councils and Regional Health Authorities.
