Wrapping Paper Not For Fireplaces And Woodstoves

Now that the presents are unwrapped, you may be looking for a place to put the wrapping paper.

Even though the temptation may be there to throw it into the fireplace, Acting Fire Chief for the Moncton Fire Department Don McCabe advises you not to, “Most wrapping paper is chemically treated and may contain metals, so it burns a lot hotter than others.”

As a result, you may end up with a much more damaging fire, outside of your fireplace.
