Work is getting underway in downtown Moncton this week to give the CN subway overpass a facelift.
CN is getting started by doing some repairs to the structure along with chipping and sealing.
Moncton economic development director Kevin Silliker says the city will then take over with more improvements including landscaping.
“Some beautification around the CN subway. As well, we will be priming and painting it. We’ll be reviewing signage, installing new signs, aesthetic architectural signs. As well, new lighting will be installed,” he notes.
As for painting the subway, Silliker notes the City and CN have agreed on an orange hue as the colour – unlike the bright pink from the 1970’s.
He adds the city will begin its work later this month and it should wrap up sometime this summer.
