Wildcats add size on the blue line

The Moncton Wildcats continue to restock the roster in preparation for another run at the league title.

Their latest acquisition is American defenceman Chris Baird-Gajdos.

The 6-3, 205-pound blue-liner spent last season with the Madison Capitols of the USHL.

Wildcats GM Taylor MacDougall said Baird-Gajdos is a mobile defenceman who plays a pro-style game.

“He has a really exciting ceiling, and is the type of player and person we are excited to add to the organization,” MacDougall said.

Baird-Gajdos said he’s grateful for the opportunity to a top organization and be part of Moncton’s winning culture.

“I look forward to contributing to this team’s continued success and being part of something bigger than myself,” he said.

It’s the second significant addition to the Wildcats’ defence in recent days.

The team has also added Shayne Gould, the top-scoring d-man in the USHL last season.
