Showing appreciation to employees is good for business but in what form should that be at Christmas?
According to employees and job seekers who responded to an online poll, 27 per cent like the idea of a cash bonus with 13 per cent favouring an increase in pay. Third on the list were days off or shortened hours during the holidays.
Among employers, 34 per cent say they would show appreciation to their employees with cash but 21 per cent say they will not be giving out Christmas bonuses.
One of the respondents replied by saying a thank you note would be sufficient recognition.
