The provincial government’s climate change plan falls short according to Green Party leader David Coon. He wouldn’t be surprised to see the federal government impose a carbon tax on the province. Coon warns putting a price on carbon is a requirement of the Pan Canadian agreement on clean growth and climate change.
Premier Brian Gallant doesn’t acknowledge that saying if the federal govoernment takes a close look, it will find New Brunswick is not only meeting but is exceeding the carbon reduction targets.
Federal Environment Catherin McKenna posted on her Facebook page that without a price on carbon, she doesn’t see how you will reduce carbon pollution.
